(Seven-minute read)

Here is a man that operates on a wing, whim and Twitter.

Trump delivers remarks following the US Military killing against Iranian General Qassem Soleimani in Baghdad, Iraq [Tom Brenner/Reuters]

A man that can’t resist an opportunity to declare his own success with a malign indifferent to reality.

Mathematically incompatible with a 35% popularity country wise and 80% Republican wise. His approval rate is 53% in Russia.

Even before his Facebook election back on January 20, 2017, he had already made a mockery of good governance norms. Any media institution that accurately reports information he doesn’t like he denigrates.

Worldwise fake news outlets and not so rigorous real ones celebrate his victory.

He’s been called an idiot, labelled unchristian, and has even been compared to Hitler and Mussolini. In fact, it’s difficult to find a single world leader who has come out in favour of President Trump.

His international policies on everything from the Muslim ban to the Wall to the Paris Climate Agreement have made him one of the most unpopular presidents in the history of the United States.

There is no need here to list his accomplishments but there is one thing that is becoming clear with the largest arms deal in history, 110 billion$ of arms to Saudi Arabia linked to the majority of deaths in US terrorist attacks he is intentionally or unintentionally setting up the Middle East for a war.

By recognising Jerusalem as Israel’s capital he endorsed Israel, not the Palestinians. Since his election colonization by Israel has surged with an invigorated enthusiasm. (Remember that Jerusalem contains sites sacred to the three major monotheistic faiths Judaism- Islam- Christianity.)

He mocked North Korean leader Kim Jon-un during a speech at the United Nations General Assembly in September 2017 and followed that up by saying he would “totally destroy” North Korea.

Donald Trump is abandoning America’s role as enlightened hegemon, eliminating America’s secret weapon, its soft power.

He is now impeached for allegations that his country colluded with Ukraine in order to rig the US election. He, of course, denies all claims.

If Trump is impeached, is that necessarily the best outcome for our country?

Impeachment over his communications with Ukraine hasn’t affected him more than as a minor annoyance. Because he is both shortsighted and for sale. His old stomping ground of business has many burnt bridges. He loves being the centre of public attention.

Let’s be clear:

Donald Trump is an idiot. I’ve tried to find different, perhaps more parliamentary adjectives to describe him, but none was clear enough. He is an idiot.

If there’s one true form of American entertainment, it’s political figures saying dumb things in person and on the Internet.

The man that gave us the Apprentice, the Miss Universe pageant, and the phrase “Donald Trump hair” is said to have a pathological temper. Pathological, there’s no cure for that.

He tore up the nuclear arms limitation treaty with Iran which was negotiated with Great Britain, Russia, China, Great Britain, France, Germany, the USA and Iran.

In terms of importance, there are other, more important issues we should focus on.

The point here is that getting into the Donal Trump mud will not work even if he loses in 2020 and does so in a campaign and a culture that has mainstreamed his brand of bullying and boorish behaviour, he wins a sort of victory one that is likely to last beyond another four years.

How long will Republicans continue to enable this fool?

Why is Donald Trump so determined to start a war with Iran by investing in a policy of fear?

That’s the way Mussolini arrived and the way Hitler arrived.

You’d never know what he will believe tomorrow.

America needs to build a big enough wall to keep himself from escaping as he has just tossed a stick of dynamite into a tinder box with a gift to all terrorists in the Middle East region even if Soleimani was responsible for unthinkable violence.

What is clear in the wake of the killing of Oasem Soleimani he doesn’t really get what made America great in the first place.

Make no mistake, Donald Trump is weakening America.

Trump is now directing his ‘wisdom’ on the Middle East a man that just says and does whatever comes into his head, usually bypassing his brain.

Iranian Quds Force commander Qassem Soleimani

If Iran decides to confront the US, Iraq will be the scene for that battle. Sod the consequences. Death by a thousand cuts.

God forbid that Donald Trump is assassinated.

Because doing that would only make him more noteworthy in history.

If you think that killing Trump will stop the government from being crazy, racist, self-serving lunatics driven by corruption, greed, and profit?

Guess again.

Look at his social media prowess where he has called himself the  “the Ernest Hemingway of 140 characters”. ( He frequently uses Twitter and other social media platforms to make comments about other politicians, celebrities and daily news.) and you will see a novel political relationship between Trump and his followers.

He effortlessly dominated the conversation online which translated into mainstream media coverage.

This despite the fact that nobody with any actual smarts believes an IQ score to be indicative of actual real-world intelligence.

In truth, it is worth mentioning that there are signs the media is fighting back.

One study found that of Trump’s millions of Facebook followers, only 42% were from America.

But, again, he doesn’t care he paints himself as an everyman (an everyman with who lives in a $100m penthouse with a rudimentary understanding of the elements of the internet.

It remains to be seen whether a man so hateful, so farcical, a man whose permanent expression is that of someone whose drunk friends superglued his eyebrows into a frown while he was sleeping.

As there is going to be plenty of online support for Muslims, and defence of Islam, in the wake of Trump’s actions. It’s not enough for politicians worldwide to be able to adeptly read an Autocue. They’d better be able to take a decent selfie and understand a meme, too.

2020 will be a whirling dervish of chaos of a year as he now represents an enormous danger to the whole of the world.

Let’s hope he goes bankrupt for the seventh time.

All human comments appreciated. All like clicks and abuse chucked in the bin.

THE BEADY EYE ASKS. WHAT IS IT THAT DRIVES MEN LIKE DONALD TRUMP.

( A five-minute read)

Far be it from me, that I in this post say I know what drives a men like Trump.Afficher l'image d'origine

They say you get to know a person by what he or she says, or does not say.  By their actions and non actions.

Like many of us, I was ill-prepared for the possibility of such a man becoming President of the United States.

Trump has nothing to do with politics or ideology. He has to do with himself.

With Politics (on both sides of the pond) now set to become the greatest show on earth his unpredictability will be his strength in office.

As a  reflection of the American way of life is he truly not really worth comprehending?

A man so utterly devoid of policy ideas he thinks that saying the words ‘tremendous’, ‘beautiful’ and ‘great’ is all you need.

In an era of highly polarized politics I suppose it is worth understanding what caused Trump’s win.

He identified the central issue motivating the American electorate and then convinced a plurality of the voters in the states that mattered that he was the best person to bring change.

Donald Trump’s supporters know exactly what he stands for: hatred of immigrants, racial superiority, a sneering disregard of the basic civility that binds a society.”

So this is the beginning of a modern trend in which politicians like Trump directly and explicitly play into people’s prejudices to win elections — and it works.

Trump now takes office on the strength of his demagoguery.

A student of little else, Trump is an intuitive expert in popular fantasy.

Capitalism chose long ago to turn its back on people’s concerns, making itself instead into the tribune of the enlightened professional class, a “creative class” that makes innovative things like derivative securities and smartphone apps.

As a result left political parties the world over were founded to advance the fortunes of working people but today’s self-absorbed elites, have become addicted to their wealth and to traditional authority, and never imagined their influence could disappear.

Allour Donald Trump. The Romans Tried to Save the Republic From Men Like Trump. They Failed.

Donald Trump talks about trade, in a ham-handed way.

It seems to obsess him to the point of selling any values of the USA.

A man who wants to deport millions upon millions of undocumented immigrants.

A man who wants to bar Muslims from visiting the United States.

A man who admires various foreign strong men and dictators, and has even retweeted a quote from Mussolini.

A man who is not against torture, which Mrs May (the unelected prime minister of Great Britain) is about discover during her special tortured meeting. The Trade agreement if any she comes away with won’t be worth the paper it is written on. It more than likely will ensure a hard Brixit.

Considering the historical baggage of the English Empire we should not however be surprised that she is the first female leader to meet Trump.

The man is an insult clown, who has systematically gone down the list of American ethnic groups and offended them each in turn.

This gold-plated buffoon has in turn drawn the enthusiastic endorsement of leading racists from across the spectrum of intolerance, a gorgeous mosaic of haters, each of them now quivering excitedly that they have a real, honest-to-god bigot in the White House.

I would advise MRS MAY to stop sleepwalking, and wake up.

He is allowing his supporters to indulge in a vision of unrestrained ego, and by extension, a vision of unrestrained national power.

Trump is now just beginning to complete his biggest and most astonishing demolition of the Western World, with personal vice is a source of his power, which now becomes a sign of state power.

Fortunately the United States constitution is specifically designed to prevent presidents from doing too much damage.

But the carefully, intelligently designed checks and balances built into the American system of government have been so eroded over the last century that a president Trump could do the sort of harm the founding fathers wished to prevent.

What’s worrying about Trump is his unpredictability, his disregard for any boundary between truth and self-serving fiction, his unbridled narcissism, his instability, and his apparent desire to pursue his enemies with the tools of high office.

It becomes slightly frightening to unpack the implications of this.

It’s a troublesome sign implying we are so used to politicians lying that we actually expect it, and that when someone comes along who is refusing to play the game, we reward them even if we don’t like them.

What can you say or see that is good about him?

Trump’s words articulate the populist backlash against liberalism that has been building slowly for decades.

Trump, while his statements are sometimes shocking, is at the very least consistent.

That means that we as a public can think that Trump is sexist, racist, or whatever the inflammatory comment du jour is, and still be more comfortable with him as the president because he appears to not be lying or hiding his feelings.

With power come not only the fame but also, more importantly, the fortune. Heads of state or government are supposed to be the servants of the people, but it may be an extremely difficult and even thankless job.

Vladimir Putin, President of Russia – $40 billion:

Bhumibol Adulyadej, King of Thailand – $30 billion:

Hassanal Bolkiah, Sultan of Brunei – $20 billion

Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, King of Saudi Arabia – $18 billion

Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of United Arab Emirates – $15 billion

Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Emir of Dubai – $4 billion

Hans-Adam II, Prince of Liechstenstein – $4 billion

Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Emir of Qatar – $2.5 billion

Mohammed VI, King of Morocco – $2.5 billion

Theresa May salary of £143,462 plus perks.

How Rich Is Donald Trump? You Don’t Want to Know. The number may be illusory,

The illusion of direct, free-flowing connection he creates through Twitter fabricates a sense of what the Cameroonian political calls  “convivial” intimacy between himself and the citizenry.

The truth is no one really knows what is going to happen, the tremors of a trade wars is in the air.

Because of Donald John Trump, whatever happens next, it will never be like it was before.

As long as you live you’ll never see a photograph of 7 women signing legislation about what men can do with their reproductive organs.Afficher l'image d'origine

Now this is more like it.

Donald Trump signed an executive order to cut off funding to cities that don’t turn over their immigrants to Trump’s deportation force or other federal (anti-) immigration officials on Tuesday,

The more Trump’s views are discussed in the media, the more they are activated and the stronger they get, both in the minds of hardcore conservatives and in the minds of moderate progressives.

Ultimately the fate of the World is not going to be determined by any politician.

The third World is booming economically and want growth at any price, and as fast as possible. Coupling this desire with huge population growth, especially in africa, and a disaster is looming.

Even the EU has huge problems cooperating internally once fundamental interests are at stake, or different ideological perceptions clash.

U.S. Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump hugs a U.S. flag as he takes the stage for a campaign town hall meeting in Derry

” BELIEVE IN ME my fellow Americans, these shining words are not entirely my own.

I alone can make America great again. Fix it.

So let’s avoid unseemly excitement about today’s routine transfer of power.

You have hired me only to administer one of our three branches of government, and only for four years.

I hope it will pass without having to bother you with reminders of my existence.

Weeks during which there will be nothing much of importance to hear from or about me as I go about the humdrum business of seeing that the laws enacted here on Capitol Hill are faithfully executed.

I promise you this: On the 100th day of my administration, America will be . . . pretty much indistinguishable from what it is today.

I will bring the country together, bring the country back to work, making sure we’re safe and secure, making sure Americans are safe in their homes and jobs by building walls.

Would you, my over-excited countrymen, really want it any other way?

Things are much better than they once were — slavery? gone; the Oregon Trail? replaced by the Interstate Highway System — but things could be better.

We have nothing to fear but you’re insufficient fear of what has been done on your behalf and at your behest. The nation’s fate is now in my hands, my dissatisfied fellow countrymen, and not in yours or the CIA.

In this present crisis, government is not the solution to our problem; government is the problem.

Look, I’m going to give a short inauguration. I am a work in progress.

I alone Donald J Trump, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.”

Let’s just say that I would not remember now who provided one word or one line.

Ask not what you country can do but what I can do for the country. We are all going to have a special relationship.”

Whatever the tone or the message, history tells us the first day of the Trump presidency will be remembered largely for the words the new president speaks.

THE BEADY EYE ASKS: IS THERE ANY INTELLIGENCE BETWEEN DONALD TRUMPS EARS

Donald Trump., HUMAN INTELLIGENCE

Another post within the theme of Intelligence – 5 minute read.

Is Donald Trump proving that intelligence without intelligent judgment is worthless.Afficher l'image d'origine

The argument that only a very bright man could have been such a successful businessman only reveals the understandable fact that few of us ever interacted with billionaires. Very bright billionaires exist, but they are no more common than very bright professors or plumbers or doctors.

IQ= business success.

Around two-thirds of people have an IQ between 85 and 115. About 5% score higher than 125, and about 5% score below 75.

So despite Trump’s assurances about how smart he is. Is he an utter inflated jackass or is he indeed intelligent.Afficher l'image d'origineTrump has served no public office and his candidacy has been bedevilled with controversy.

This is the man who once said that illegal Mexican immigrants were mostly murderers and rapists, who pledged to stop Muslim migration and who asked the question: “If Hillary Clinton can’t satisfy her husband what makes her think she can satisfy America?”

He graduated from Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science degree in economics and anthropology.

He generally expresses himself in an extremely unsophisticated and sophomoric manner. He doesn’t just see himself as a man, he sees himself as a brand. And that’s what he’s been selling his whole life. The election is just one more sales pitch.

How he got off the ground is disputed. “It has not been easy for me,” Trump told an audience in 2015, “my father gave me a small loan of a million dollars.”

That’s misleading.

The company that Donald took over in 1971 – the Trump Organization – was essentially the family business rebranded, and at various points in his career his father helped either as a silent partner, guarantor of loans or by providing capital to keep the wheels oiled. For instance, when one of Donald’s casinos floundered, Fred bought $3.5 million in gaming chips – but didn’t use them.

So who is he?

He was born on June 14, 1946 in Queens, New York. His mother, Mary, came from an island off Scotland. His father, Frederick Christ Trump, was of German descent.

In 1977, Donald married the beautiful Czech athlete and model Ivana Zelnickova Winklmayr – and their shoulder-padded, gold-plated marriage turned them into a yuppie king and queen. In 1985, they bought their very own Versailles: the 118-room Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Florida. Parts of the estate were turned into a resort for private members.

In 1991, Divorce proceedings began with Ivanka.

Donald was having an affair with the actress Marla Maples, a relationship that would also end in legal separation in 1999. In 2004, Donald married the Slovenian-born model Melania Knauss. Two of the guests at the wedding were Bill and Hillary Clinton.

His key to success is make an unreasonable demand in order to strike a deal for less but which still leaves him the winner. As he wrote in his 1987 manifesto The Art of the Deal: “Sheer persistence is the difference between success and failure.”

The Trump title had been used to sell “water, Israeli energy drinks, cologne, Virginian wine, vodka, furniture” – and, most controversially, a university.

People assume that because of his sometimes questionable business successes, that he must be intelligent and sharp.

The answer is that Trump apparently has few or no aides who would ask such a question.

In fact, at least with regard to foreign policy, Trump has boasted about consulting with himself.

With a man who operates by such a strange mix of calculation and egomania, it’s hard to tell how much method is in the madness. He’s picked fights with celebrities that seem designed just to gain attention.

The big myth about Trump that needs exploding is the idea that he stumbled into politics without a game plan. Again, that’s branding.

The reality is that his carefully choreographed flirtation with the presidency goes back decades. He has so far defied the rules of American politics and has succeeded because, for all his many flaws, his instincts are far closer to those of the average American than his rivals can match.

Ultimately, Trump has won votes for the same reason that he’s been a success in business. The sales pitch has been smart and God forbid many people rather like the product.
