The current set of problems facing the world is exposing as never before just how fragile we humans are.

We are facing three major challenges ( over which we have no control) CLIMATE CHANGE and ARTIFICIAL-INTELLIGENCE + SOCIAL MEDIA

The question is do we want to live or just exist in a world run by a few wealthy people.

These days it appears that we don’t want to hold powerful people to account.

They get a headline and thats it.

Take for example.

Prince Andrew who thought his privilege position would protect him till he became Andy.

Or

George Michel former US senator who played a critical role in Northern Ireland’s peace process once described his friendship with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein as a “blessing”.

He is now an old codger, but age should not excuse his crimes.

Donald Dump has gone to great lengths to sweep the whole Epstine thing under the carpet.

Epstine died by suicide.

———————-

The fragility of humans was especially shown in the two world wars.

A prime example would be the 7th Panzer Division brutality (that should never be forgotten ) as it made its way to Normandy, massacring all that stood in its way.

Or the recent brutal force of Israel retaliation. Committing a Genocide in response to an attack that killed around 1000 it has wiped out 60,000 Palestines, as the world watched it do so with impunity.

Humanity had always been fragile and will remain so till it learns to live in peace.

In order to make any difference we have to change the way we protect our shared human values. Somehow we must place them beyond the reach of ourselves where they are protected against any technological advances, wars etc.

Ukraine Russia war which is now four years old.

This can only be achieved with universal agreement to tackle, control what is self evident.

Climate change is self evident. Humanity must choose profit or a liveable planet

Artificial intelligence is less self evident. Digital slavery or freedom.

Social Media is evidence in abundance. False information or the truth.

What happened?

Well the crude Europeans in the name of GOD sacked its holy places in Jerusalem, stole Islam’s science, its mathematics, its art to bring about their Renaissance, rose to dominate most of the rest of the globe, and then scooped up the majority of Muslims into their European empires.

September 11 committed by a tiny minority of extremist misfits that killed over 300 people resulted in the Taliban been turfed out of power in Afghanistan with Saddam Hudson somehow replacing bin Laden as the most evil man of history.

Causing a pre- emotive war to get rid of him and his alleged weapons of mass destruction in Iraq occurred with no weapons of mass destruction only a pathetic man with a beard hiding in a hole.

Since then it seems the world has changed into isolation with Russia trying to take advantage of its disunity to grab the Ukraine back by force into is empire.

The more one reflects on what really matters in human existence the more you become alienated from a culture that is obsessed with materialism.

These days we barely have time to absorb one event before ten others replace it.

Society is now governed by Social Media which is incapable of expressing any critical thinking to tackle the real problems facing all of us in a world that needs to unite to have any hope against CLIMATE CHANGE or ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE.

It’s now or never that we need to come together, not isolation, not Donald Dump, nor Mr Putin, nor most of the Islam I am all right Jack world, while we watch inequality expand across the globe.

Insh’ Allah might descend a religious philosophy in one word however ever I prefer the word bolloxed.

( Four minute read)

The major of problems with Algorithms is just who owns them.

Who is responsible when something goes wrong.

A machine driven by a code that humans invented remains within the current laws of defending or prosecution.

But once a machine becomes conscious it steps out of any human made laws into a legal void.

Currently there are no legal requirements to declare either an owner or their usages.

The question is :,

If the machine is capable of being responsible for its own actions, is the original coder of the machine removed from any legitimate legal obligation, as the machine is now capable of making it’s own decisions without any further human interventions.

What is the point of having laws that govern a machine if it has no emotions, no sense of fear, no sense of anything biological, no laws will protect anything that comes in contact.

So how does one go about setting rules and regulations for conscientious machinery ?

What if such machine were to kill a human there is no human law that could be applied that would have any impact, or effect.

There is only one way.

That way is that all conscious AI no matter what form it or they take must have like all hospital beds an alarm button within its. A fail safe code that can be activated to turn it off

The password to this function comes with its purchase and there is a legal requirement that it is held on your mobile phone in a designated file called AI Emergency.

You might think this is over the top.

I say if we humans want to have any resiliency or control over future AI we must be able to shut down the power that is running any AI machine.

While one of us out of 11 goes hungry every day, we currently building data centres using so much water to keep them cool that there will be nothing left to drink.

There leadership for you.

THE BEADY EYE ASK’S: What happens after we die?

( Fifteen minute read)

The fear of death is often linked to the unknown, but death is one of the most fundamental facts of life.

A common view is that after death, the soul ascends to heaven. However, very few say they can explain what happens in heaven. How heaven can be real if different religions view the afterlife differently.

Since people have promulgated religions, the guidance they offer may be imperfect and inconsistent within each religion or in comparison with other religions, even if God originally inspired it.

Why do we have to die?

Theologians and religious believers have long had a ready-made answer: death is simply a transition from this stage to the next in a cosmic proscenium.

In the religious worldview death needs no explanation other than “God wills it” as part of a deific design that will be disclosed once we get to the other side, usually involving a cosmic comeuppance for one’s actions and a settling of all moral scores.

Without consciousness of self life is pointless as it has no inherent meaning, you don’t exist and the world you live is a hallucination, an uncontrolled perception of that conscious.

What is certain is that we all have a finite life and we are all the time call our selves as bodily -self, as peroectival -self, as volitional -self, as narrative – self, as social-self, that’s reality.

It also is reasonable to assume that there are many things we cannot perceive, of which we are unaware.

Thus, rather than a position of certainty about the lack of existence after death, it may be more humble to hold an agnostic position: It is unknowable what happens after death so a humble position is to accept that what happens after death is unknowable.

An eternal life is pointless. Without death there would be no life. We die so others may live.

We are biological machines that see the world not just visually, but with predictions of our brains.

———————–

We’re learning more new things about death everyday.

Much has been said and theorized about the great divide between life and the Great Beyond. While everyone and every culture has their own philosophies and unique ideas on the subject, we’re beginning to learn a lot of new scientific facts about the deceased corporeal form.

At this every moment, within our bodies and all around us, trillions of microscopic combatants are waging a war that shapes our health and life on Earth.

Time of death is considered when a person has gone into cardiac arrest, which is the cessation of the electrical impulse that drives the heartbeat. As a result, the heart locks up.

This moment when the heart stops is considered by medical professionals to be the clearest indication that someone has died.

But what happens inside our mind during this process?

Do we entered a hyper-alert state just before death?

Does death immediately overtake our subjective experience or does it slowly creep in?

Could people who were technically dead be cognizant of what’s happening around them?

After death, you’re aware that you’ve died!

Even after our breathing and heartbeat stop, we remain conscious for about two to 20 seconds. That’s how long the cerebral cortex is thought to last without oxygen. This is the thinking and decision-making part of the brain. It’s also responsible for deciphering the information gathered from our senses.

It can take hours for our thinking organ to fully shut down.

To understand whether consciousness becomes annihilated or whether it continues after you’ve died for some period of time — and how that relates to what’s happening inside the brain in real time is impossible to know.

To break the definition of dead down, an individual must be completely brain-dead so that their breathing and blood circulation stops. This specification is important because there are cases when an individual’s lungs and heart are still beating. The cells of the rest of the body can also remain alive because they still have a supply of oxygen. However when the heart stops pumping blood and the lungs stop breathing, cells won’t receive oxygen or nutrients and will begin to die in a matter of minutes.

There are 4 stages that the body moves through after death:

After death, the body undergoes a series of changes that occur in a timely and orderly manner. These stages are also affected by the extrinsic and intrinsic factors of the corpse. Since there is no fixed duration for these stages, it is impossible to determine the exact time of death unless there is a witness or some other verifiable source of this information.

All these stages of death are often overlapping in their occurrence. They may start separately, but most of them continue to occur simultaneously Hence, you never rely solely on one or 2 factors but rather take as many as possible into consideration and then draw conclusions from there!

Depending on the circumstances of death in space, the body could be frozen, dried out, slowly rotting, or decomposing normally.

Pallor Mortis, paleness in the face, Algor Mortis, the corpse eventually starts to match the outside temperature. Rigor Mortis, all the muscles will become relaxed and limp, but the whole body will stiffen after a few hours. On average, rigor mortis lasts for 24 to 48 hours. and Livor Mortis your blood succumbs to gravity. Lividity starts with the skin where the blood has settled, developing a bright red colour. After a few hours, the colour changes from red to bluish-purple. This can take 6 to 8 hours with a bluish colouring of the skin.

  • Cells are biology’s basic units of life — microscopic capsules with everything needed for life and replication contained within a fat-based membrane and, sometimes, a tough outer wall.
  • All life on the planet — except viruses — consists of cells.

Vastly outnumbering the viruses that do us harm, phage’s power ecosystems, drive evolutionary innovation, and harbour a remarkable capacity to heal life-threatening infections when conventional antibiotics fail. Yet most of us have never heard of them, thinking of viruses only as enemies to be feared.

Microbe rules our world.

  • Researchers estimate there may be as many as ten million trillion trillion phage’s on Earth — that’s 10 with 30 zeros after it.The Immortalists - can science defeat death? © Getty Images                                                         Can science defeat death?
  • Humanity’s obsession with the afterlife and the quest for immortality.
  • Life is just too long if it lasts an eternity.
  • It is estimate that before our generation roughly 100 billion people lived and died, and not one of them has returned to confirm the existence of an afterlife, at least not to the high evidentiary standards of science.

The goal of cryonics, in a phrase, is “freeze—wait—reanimate.” The soul in this scenario is the self as stored in memory, so the cryopreservation of memory preserves the self indefinitely until the day when medical technologies come online to reanimate it. Currently this is done through the vitrification of the brain, which involves turning the cryopreserved brain into a glass-like substance.

The goals of extropy are uplifting if not utopian: longer lives, more intelligence, greater wisdom, improved physical and mental health, and the elimination of political, economic, and cultural limits to personal development and social progress. Once these are achieved “immortality is next” they proclaim.

Transhumanists intend to transform the human condition first through lifestyle choices involving diet and exercise, then through body enhancements (e.g., breast or cochlear implants) and body parts replacements (e.g., artificial knees, hips, and hearts), then genetic engineering, all with the goal of taking control of evolution and transforming the species into something stronger, faster, sexier, healthier, and with vastly superior cognitive abilities.

We will reach a point when medical technologies will add one additional year every year to your life expectancy. There go I but for the grace of God. As the rate of progress of medical technology accelerates the years will pile up for decades, centuries, and beyond, possible to forever. At some point it will be prudent to upload your mind—your self, your soul—into a computer to avoid the problems that a biological substrate like a brain entails.

When that happens humans will achieve immortality.

Do we enter heaven, become an animal, or reset in a simulation with our souls teleporting instantly.

In the meantime, whether or not there’s a hereafter, we live here and now, so we must make the most of our time by making every day, every encounter, every relationship count, for that is where the true meaning of life is found.

The meaning of life is that everyone must choose the answer to that question for themselves. Life is far more absurd than we can grasp. But we have to grasp that absurdity by the horns and deal with it.

Purposes are created by people.

Yes you can have deep meaning without having to deny rationalism or science!

“Are your thoughts and memories really your own?”. After all, if life loses meaning, there’s still life.

You live and die in a universe which has been evolving for billion and billions of years, expanding/ inflating at the speed of light ( 300,000 km per second with a light year equalling  946,000,000,000 km  creating more and more space)

Andromeda the nearest galaxy in this universe of ours is two and a half light years from us.  We see it as as man had only just started using stone tools. Every think in the universe is moving away from us without changing it position. When space expands it stretches space making more space.

Space has no centre, no walls that mark’s its end, so you can roam around the universe without meeting an edge.

Even if you could travel considerably faster than light you would come back to where you started.

Beyond the Cosmic Horizon is undecidable or known by any means we have.

Beyond this horizon how much space is there?

It is calculated that is size of the dimeter of the observable universe is 23 trillion light years away. Our observable universe is home to two trillion galaxies with the unobservable universe housing 30 quint trillion of them.

Life must be playing out on an other world.

As to how far heave is God only knows, as beyond the cosmic horizon no one knows where the space of an expanding universe’s goes. Perhaps God is dark energy.

Ultimately like us the universe will die so for what purpose would a god create such a universe  Long live imagination, perhaps it is God.

If I can control how and what I perceive, then I am the god of my own world.

( One Minute read)

We are just an accident of creation an algorithm of evolution and technology is only created by our minds, with our imaginations.Afficher l'image d'origine

The Internet allows for our humanity in modern-day times to interconnect and promote globalization and information sharing.

Without imaginations, no technology would have been created and with the decoupling of intelligence and consciousness our time is coming to an end.

Soon we have an algorithm that will figure out.

“Why was God a Man?” “Why we have such a heartless world”.

We  are just at the start of this process and there is nothing we can do to stop it.  Data- driven technologies are going to rule the roost. From your birth to your demise.

Smart phones and Social Media are eroding the very concept of individuality which is the start of disintegrating from within.

We will live for longer, but as Dataists, run by an unchallenged high priestly caste with all the knowledge,  Facebook, Google, Apple, Microsoft.

Technology, a word with Greek origins, is defined as, “the practical application of knowledge especially in a particular area”.
Technology to-day is a word used to collectively describe or portray the advancements abilities, creations, undertakings, views, and knowledge of a singular group of persons: we as human-kind.

We are being reduced to the mentality of Chickens.

Technology… is a queer thing.
“It brings you great gifts with one hand, and it stabs you in the back with the other.”
C.P. Snow

“Humanity is acquiring all the right technology for all the wrong reasons.”

R. Buckminster Fuller

However, the decision to use it proficiently in proper perspective is one’s
’own decision and choice.
If technological advancements are put in the best uses, it further inspires the development in related and non-related areas but at the sametime its negative use can create havoc in the humanity or the world.
Technology has, and will, change the moral fabric of humanity; it is up to the present generation to heed this warning and not allow such societal travesties of immense proportions ever to occur.
Again Technological Advancements will continue to advance rapidly as we move into the next millennium. What is important is to ensure that these advances benefit humanity as a whole.
And what exactly is the “Singularity” supposed to be?
It’s a future mythological moment when machine (artificial) intelligence becomes more “intelligent” than human intelligence.

THE BEADY EYE LOOKS AT DEATH

14 Friday Aug 2015

≈ Comments Off on THE BEADY EYE LOOKS AT DEATH

Tags

Death v Technology, The Future of Mankind, The future., Visions of the future.

Of all mankind’s ostensible insoluble problems, one has remain the most vexing, interesting and important, the problem of death itself.

The denial of death is one of humanity’s deepest motivations.

In the decades to come we may see, one universe, one humankind, one religion, that unites us all but in the end we all share the same destiny – that just as surely as we are alive, so we die.

Death reminds us of our human vulnerability in spite of all our technological advances.

It is an integral part of our lives that gives meaning to human existence.

All that you are, and all that you’ve done and been is culminated in your death.

But now it is turning into a technical problem?

In recent years, medical technology has advanced rapidly. It has been suggested that methods such as nanotechnology, cell rejuvenation, and gene therapy might result in a significant increase in the human lifespan.

In theory, with the help of medical technology, it could be possible to keep living for hundreds or thousands of years, even eternally.

The whole brain definition of death is an unwieldy, historical compromise which will unravel as 21st century technologies permit the repair, replacement and manipulation of body, and especially brain, tissue.

We would basically be left with suicide, illnesses, accidents, famine, and homicides. Another words the like hood of dying from some disease or virus will be highly unlikely.

Even if it seems a distant goal the quest of immortality is very much on the cards.

The (current) essence of being human is to be mortal, immortals would necessarily be a different type of being and therefore have a different identity.

To control human destiny, with the dream of conquering death would raise profound questions.

You are not obliged to entertain all thought experiments, no matter how implausible, but if technology will make our current ethical views inadequate within some finite, foreseeable period of time, we should adjust our thinking, and law, to a more solid footing.

Our current concepts of death don’t very well address the status of a person who might eventually be brought back to life.

When and if these remediative technologies come available, there will be tremendous material interests at stake. These technologies will develop just as the industrialized world shifts to increasing proportion of elderly.

Nanotechnology is developing a bionic immune system, and by the year 2050 we could reach a mortal state.

Research is also being conducted on the creation of computer chip matrices into which nerves can grow, and which could permit two-way communication between neurons and computers.

Such computer-brain interfaces raise the possibility that computer technology may also be developed to remediate neural capacities.

Already advances are being made in electronic prosthetics for sight and hearing, from cochlear implants to optic nerve interfaces.

Computer engineers are also developing biological computing and storage media3, and software that learns, suggesting a future convergence between organic computing, neural network software and neural-computer interfaces.

Personhood in a cybernetic medium is a common, but minority, position in the field of artificial intelligence and cognitive science.

Most cognitive scientists accept the materialist assertion that mind is an emergent phenomenon from complex matter, and that cybernetics may one day provide the same requisite level of complexity as a brain.

Of course, those who embrace the possibility of self-aware machine minds do not necessarily want to see them be developed, or grant them “human rights” once they do develop.

Another technology that may eventually challenge our death concepts is cryonic suspension, the freezing of heads, or whole bodies, for eventual reanimation.

Barring the end of civilization as we know it, technology will eventually develop the capacity to remediate severe brain injuries, and perhaps even translate human thought into alternative media.

So you are can begin to see that we will be forced to acknowledge that the destruction of the “integrative” functions of the body is an inadequate definition of death, since the social person will remain intact.

When we get to the point where neurological functions can be controlled, designed and turned on and off, the illusory sense of continuous self-identity will become more obvious.

Once we cast off this fundamental predicate of Enlightenment ethics, the existence of an autonomous individual, we are beyond the ethical frameworks of contemporary bioethics.

It might be necessary that old people had a duty to die.

We soon have to answer the question: Is there can only be one death.

There are ethical worldviews that do not have the autonomous individual at their core, from the Democracy to Communism.

By the time we have developed adequate frameworks based on our cherished liberal democratic values it will be too late.

After more than a century of looking for it, brain researchers have long since concluded that there is no conceivable place for such a self to be located in the physical brain, and that it simply doesn’t exist. Luckily if we wished to cure death, there is absolutely no scientific evidence that we might be able to do that even in the distant future.

But don’t be fooled. Have a look,

https://youtu.be/BGOUSvaQcBshttps:

//youtu.be/u_Vpy3xs0cE

The only modern ideology that still awards death a central role is nationalism.                          “The Glorious Dead.”  Résultat de recherche d'images pour "we shall remember them"

Warfare has been the crucial defining element for Britain and its empire in the 20th century. There have been only two years since 1945 that a serving member of the armed forces has not been killed.

The Cenotaph (literally “empty tomb” in Greek)  May they rest in Peace.
