Vast numbers of AI with their development advancing to the point of no return are being deployed in the current wars with AI in control.

This military race to equip drones on swarm footing is going to cause a war.

Instead of wars conducting a wars it will be AI decided where it goes, who to targets and who to kill, a recipe for disasters.

If you give a self learning algorithm a target it will automatically complete its missions with a preemptive strike.

However just like acknowledging the reality of climate change the threat of a global war does not tell us what to do about it.

There are always options, unfortunately with a future developing subject to artificial intelligence, these options are dissipating at a faster rate than we can imagine.

There is no option when it comes to either the Climate or AI both must be brought under control.

Not tomorrow not in twenty years, it’s now or never.

Never is winning the race as the truth is being hidden or distorted. We can choose what we want but on the other hand we should not deny the true consequences and meaning of our choice.

Only the representative of the people should be able to declare wars.

You might think that people power is expressed in populism. Far from it. Populism strips democracy of any authority with AI self learning algorithms are doing the work as you read this.

It’s not the Putin’s the Donal Trump’s the Xi-Jin Ping’s or Kim Jong Un’s that will decided who win’s, it is the visual power of the truth that holds this power whether you like it or not.

One only has to look at the pathetic support the USA is giving Israel to relinquish all hope of a peaceful world.

Yuval Noah Harari book NEXUS is already out of date.

Algorithms already rule the world not might but do.

Information comes in many forms verbal written, visual, however in the end it is finite, so information platforms will have to create synthetic information which will never be understood by humans.

Decisions made by these Algorithms therefore can never be trusted as they will alter all human information to suit their own agendas.

It is now or never as a species.

We protect ourselves by passing a universal law that all AI must abide a self destructive mode if they threaten any of the values of humanity.

How can this be achieved?

Can this be achievable?

My answer is no.

We are unable and unwilling to change our Capitalist beliefs of growth at all costs.

Combine with power no matter the results there will be a massive difference in living a life and a life being lived by algorithms influencers.

To day there is a human in the loop to keep Ai drones from deciphering information to make its own kill decisions. To morrow there won’t be any minimal human input will be the norm.

In 50 years you will not be read this wondering what next? It will have arrived.

The current Israeli Palestinian conflict doesn’t and does make sense. It’s a self inflicted war help by tragic past historical events.

However the world is now witnessing the reincarnation of Hitler as a Jew.

Lecturing the world in the General Assembly of the Unity Nation on why it is necessary to wipe out a people that cannot be allowed to grow old.

For me these is little point in quoting the Bible or the Koran when it comes to killing.

The best way, as we all know is to allocate a de ~ humanise label – THE HUN – TOMMY – NIP – JARHEAD – POG – HAMAS- HEZBOLLAH – HOUTHI – IDF – ISIS – the list is endless.

By using names all military blur undesired aspects of war.

Of course all contain humans.

Hamas runs GAZA,

HEZBOLLAH a political SHIA Muslim party in the Libyan, and a military group called the party of ALLAH in Kufic script.

Israel for decades rather than engaging with its Arab neighbours has attempted to make its boarders secure by military might.

Modern day Israel has its origins in the Zionism Movement whose core beliefs are that all Jews constitute one nation returning to its rightful ownership of a piece of land they owned before the romans took it over.

It’s this belief which is in contradiction to most other cultures, (unable to be content to stand within or alongside other cultures within a one country) with equal tolerance and respect combined with the aid of the holocaust that has lead to its present precarious existence.

The forcibly establishment on the 14 May 1948 under the British mandate signed by David Ben Gurion & Harry S Truman president of the USA.

We all know that with the advancement of AI and its non biological influence on the world there will be no room for differences, of skin colour, religious beliefs, as AI just like the Spanish flu that killed over 3% of the world population has no boundaries.

We all know that our collective survival depends on what human values we encode into our new non- biological friends.

There will be no room for non-essential personnel in a world that is run by super intelligent.

To know what’s wrong with our world one has only to listen to the songs of the world, never mind the history.

With every one calling for peace it is futile not to think with the war in the Ukraine now in its third year that the world is not being slowly dragged into world war 111.

Operation Rhine Israel with its proxy supporters is well on the way. This is the grew-sum chilling reality.

We all know that Israel cannot sustain the present war for a day without the support of the USA.

The war is in nobody interest

It could end up a war between Iran Russian and America backed Israel. Resulting in a two front war with Russia which is dangerously beyond thinking.

It’s going to take generations to repair the damage Israel is doing for any chance of peace in the Middle East.

At the moment the problem is that there are no consequences applicable to stop wars, other than a total thermonuclear war which would end all wars.

AI IS FUNDAMENTALLY DIFFERENT FROM ALL PREVIOUS TECHNOLOGIES AS IT CAN CREATE ON ITS OWN FUNCTION/ FUTURE.

Artificial intelligence’s is creating its own language of Mima ( Mining information for management and acquisition) in order to inte-grate natural language, structuring knowledge over large systems, and using automated algorithms recognition techniques to gain our loyalty.

Once AI algorithms work out how to gain your loyalty there will be no need for you to search for what’s new.

The Advertisement Industry will therefore collapse, with social media platforms becoming the battleground for attention.

Algorithms are already well established in our society/lives and some are powerful in their practicality- Face recognition for example or predicting the stock markets.

They are interpreting how we think and communicate and will have big implications for us and what it means to be human.

As no one fully understands how Artificial Neural Network actually work, how they find connections & retrieve data, with an ability to generate written content in response to almost any command, cannot be fully explained.

How they are monitoring anything.

How they are adapting to their surroundings, if they are supposed to be mimicking the human brain [which is in itself still one of the greatest] whose functioning is still largely unknown.

Artificial Intelligence relies upon vast data sets to learn, this data is already contaminated and littered with every human biased thinkable.

Harmful gender stereotypes

Racial Biases

Elections

Currently our elected world leaders are being encouraged to spend 5% of GDP on defence with most political parties pledged to keep country safe at all costs.

In this age of proxy wars conducted with AI weapons, we are well on the road to getting further away from the objective of getting AI to explain how it arrives at decision and outcomes .

As a result there will be deep learning hidden layers to AI to make it untrustworthy and far from ethical in the Future.

Their reach already goes far beyond playing Chess or Go with their influence becoming thinner they’re going to have a profound impact in the future on all aspects of living a life.

How these Neutral networks will adapt to the world around them, which is too variable to do anything absolutely.

How the real world is understood and imagined will shape these systems.

It’s is well described by a Turkish proverb.

“ The forest was shrinking, but the trees kept voting for the Axe as the axe was clever and convinced the trees that because its handle was made of wood, it was one of them.”

(Five minute read.)

The short answer is power.

It’s certainly not the truth.

In a world where we are supposed to able to communicate, we are so saturated with information and bombarded with advertising we are no longer able to distinguish what is false and what is true.

Truth is usually the opposite to a false statement. Another words in accord with reality or facts.

We have a thing called Social Media which is destroying the very thing it claims to be – Social.

Far from bringing people together it’s is driving them apart with artificial predictive data gathering turning us into products.

Consider the risks.

While world leaders sit around a table passing worthless resolutions.

Exploding pagers /mobile phones with fake news becoming a major propaganda tool to launch cyber attacks.

To contaminate the air or water with drones.

It’s now or never we hold the owners of Algorithms to total transparency and legal responsibility.

It’s now or never we stop all wars and concentrate our collective actions to stop climate change.

It’s now or never we start to legislate for a transfer into living alongside non biological life forms.

It’s now or never that we learn that time it’s self is not just a forwarding of now but encompassed the past and the future all together in space time.

It’s now or never we ensure that all AI recognise our collective human values.

It’s now or never we put genuine value on all life.

It’s now or never Democracy cleanse its self up with long term solutions to world hunger/ poverty/ insecurity/ inequality/ racism/ living wage/ sustainable.

It’s now or never.

THE BEADY EYE SAY’S: IS INTERNATIONAL LAW NOW A JOKE.

( Twelve minute read)

The present moment finds the world as dangerously divided and on the edge of international violence as any in the last thirty years. Why?

You could blame #Bill Gates for this reason.

He was blinded by the good of connecting us all and our every actions in the world, with the Internet which has introduced an epochal change that is been used both for good and bad.

Since the internet became a thing (in a period of conflict and transformation of international relations) states use to be able to find new ways of discovering points of common interest and signalling willingness to conform to particular norms.

This is no longer possible as everything is connected to some other another thing, or event with an eroding of  International laws.

—————————-

The world faces many threats that require collective action for an effective response..

Climate change, proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, and future pandemics, including those deliberately engineered using cutting-edge technology, may lead the list.

The present moment of crisis has many causes – geopolitical, economic and cultural and the Internet/ AI algorithms running social media and killing programs.

Russia’s armed attack on Ukraine and now the Israel war have prompted many to despair of international law.

What it means as a practical matter is that the formal adoption of new international rules through international agreements faces roadblocks that seem likely to persist for some time.

WHY?

Because suddenly just about everyone has a portal to cyberspace, a wonderful world with an amazing range of images, sounds and writing, further democratized connections and influence around the world through cyber-activity.

These developments are transforming our world. The difference from twenty years ago could not be greater.

——————–

The cyber-revolution, an explosion in connectivity that increasingly allowed people to bypass central authorities to communicate, agitate and organize, unfolded during the first decade of the present century.

What is the value of a legal order that has no effective remedy in store against even the most blatant violations?

Global governance seemed to have overcome the burgeoning nationalism of the 19th century.

The establishment of the International Criminal Court arguably marked the end of history in the field of international law. Surely now we don’t need another war or the current wars, to open our eyes about the insufficiency of the post-1990 international legal order.

The differentiation concerning the real-life implications of international law are now so profound with wars conducted with AI drones and targeting programmes, we are left to realize that even in cases so clearly in violation of the most fundamental principles of international law, international law hardly seems to contain power.

Due to the lack of centralized enforcement, how international law influences states and other actors in ways that are often implicit rather than explicit, influencing the cognitive, psychological aspects of human nature, rather than the faculty for rational calculus.

Our understanding of legal terms was guided by moral concepts, not anymore.

In the absence of effective formal international law-making, jurists face a choice that will require a lot of work on language and perceptions.

It is sometimes incredibly difficult to find out whether states choose their course of action due to cognitive or motivational biases or out of sheer self-interest.

In the case of international humanitarian law, we are likely to see entrepreneurial rules favoured by states that project military force into conflicts, either international or non-international, rather than those preferred by states that find armed conflicts unfolding on their territory against their will.

—————————

I offer here a stylized and truncated narrative that focuses on two factors:

(1) geopolitical changes related to the use of force in international and non-international disputes, and (2) the achievements of information technology.

This is not the entire story,

The collapse of Soviet Union in December 1991, seemed to put an end to the bipolar regime that had governed international security issues since the Second World War. This opened the door to the possibility of a new world order based on the international rule of law. It became possible to imagine a world where international uses of armed force would rest on international consensus, reflected in the actions of the United Nations Security Council, and thus increasingly rare.

Worldwide, States walked away from the bipolar structure that had dominated international relations for the previous forty years. Many thoughtful people believed that we found ourselves in a new age of collective security and democratic peace with the international rule of law and peaceful resolution of international disputes replacing the threat of armed conflict and the risk of Armageddon.

After 1991, armed conflict did not disappear, but shifted and is still shifting to AI weapons beyond any human control, that will produce atrocities yet to be seen- forever wars. Al-Qaeda and Da’esh embody non-State parties to such conflicts.

Forever wars, that spawn mass terror attacks resulting coalitions invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq. ( the former with the Security Council’s approval and the latter without.) However conquest did not result in triumph, but instead in prolonged insurgencies that in many ways resembled the old wars of national liberation.

Resulting in a right to collective self-defence against non-State organizations operating on the territory of Syria and Russia and Iran introducing forces at the invitation of Syria’s government.

That are neither anti-colonial struggles of national liberation nor civil wars confined to the territory of a State. Rather, they involve armed struggle by non-State actors to bring about a regime change in a particular State or region that extends outside the borders of the contested territory.

As freedom spread from the virtual space to the physical space.

Cyber-tactics could defang authoritarian uses of targeted force by enabling elements of surprise and swarming for popular uprisings that resist State-sponsored suppression of protests.

The cyber-revolution, in the eyes of some, represented the death knell of violent authoritarian regimes and thus provided yet another path to a democratic peace. Such as the 2011 Arab Spring.

Authoritarians increasingly exploited the new technologies to survey and remove their adversaries.

Once an instrument of liberation, cyberspace increasingly became the place where States bolstered their defences against dissidents. The same technologies that gave states greater resources to leverage domestic social control also provided new instruments for prosecuting international conflicts.

These actors also can infiltrate online media so as to engage in disinformation and psychological warfare. The cyber-tools not only greatly multiply the efficacy of these interventions, but complicate attribution of responsibility. These malign capacities exacerbate both traditional international disputes and the prosecution of non-traditional armed conflicts.

Both developments breed instability and leverage threats to peace and prosperity. They also raise issues related to international humanitarian law.

This may mean developing rules with which states will comply while maintaining plausible deniability that their compliance represents a broader commitment to cooperation or any indication of the normative pull of the rule of law.

With the capacity to conduct over-the-horizon operations, typically drone strikes, against persons they believe to be implicated in imminent armed attacks have developed non-trivial standards and rules of evidence to constrain military actors in choosing whom to target.

Before it becomes impossible, international law must be updated to the technology it is supposed to operate in.

THE BEADY EYE ASKS : IS THE UNITED NATIONS ANYLONGER RELEVANT?

( Five minute read)

IT’S APRIL FOOLS DAY.

In a world full of geopolitical tensions unprecedented in decades are we fooling ourselves with the United Nations.

The United Nations stands at a crossroads. It is bedeviled by a litany of challenges, including gross underfunding, bloated bureaucracy, disunity, and geopolitical rivalry among the permanent members of the Security Council.  The stakes could not be higher. Is the United Nations (UN) Relevant in the 21st Century?

People are looking to their leaders to get out of the current global “mess”, the worsening climate emergency, escalating conflicts, technological disruptions, cost-of-living crisisis.

The question is.  Is the United Nations capable of dealing with these conflicts, especially when one of its priorities is to balance its neutrality in the face of differences between member states.

The UN is an old organisation established after World War II to promote peace, now a broken institution that sometimes works when it comes to distribution food aid.

Even though the agency has been marginalised from playing a significant political role, it has still been able to play an important role in providing humanitarian aid, for eradicating poverty, promoting education, and improving health and gender equality around the world.

One of the most significant criticisms has been the ineffectiveness of the UN Security Council in resolving conflicts.

For example, the United Nations Security Council’s all-powerful group, the P-5 (the five permanent members – also veto powers – of the council), excludes huge demographics of the world population such as Africa, Latin America and the Middle East. Members from these regions therefore rightfully feel relegated to be second-class members of the organization’s top brass.

The Security Council, which is responsible for maintaining international peace and security, has often been paralyzed by the veto power of its five permanent members – the United States, China, Russia, France, and the United Kingdom. This has made it difficult for the Security Council to take decisive action in conflicts such as the Syrian civil war, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and more recently in the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

I think where we see a lot of people losing faith is when they see these moments of hypocrisy

The powerful role Russia still plays as a permanent member of the UN Security Council, even as it threatens international peace and security

The US, which, while it is able to use its powerful veto power to block resolutions on Palestine because of its bilateral relations, turns around and tries to pass resolutions on territorial integrity in the case of Ukraine.

The UN is going to use a lot of rhetoric, but on an effective level it is not going to be able to carry out any kind of instrument to stop this as no one wants to deployed peacekeeping forces in various conflict-ridden regions of the world.

Against a backdrop of harmonisation among countries seems to be the UN’s priority, but experts think reform is more urgent.

One of the key challenges facing the UN is the increasing complexity of conflicts and the rise of new security threats such as terrorism and cyber warfare.

To address these challenges, the UN must strengthen its conflict prevention and resolution capabilities, investing in early warning systems, mediation, diplomacy, and working more closely with regional organizations.

It must also address the root causes of conflicts, including poverty, inequality, and human rights abuses.

It must promote multilateralism and global cooperation to address global challenges such as climate change, pandemics, and terrorism.

Why?  Because if you don’t have an actor that is able to impose all the legislation, then you have a problem.

It’s obvious that organisations, international organisations, also have to change and their priorities might not change.

Although the UN has faced criticisms for its limitations, it remains an essential institution for addressing the world’s most pressing issues.

One of the reasons why the UN remains relevant is its ability to mobilize resources and coordinate efforts towards global challenges. Its ability to set and promote international standards and norms.

Upholding human rights. The UN’s human rights bodies and mechanisms provide an essential avenue for monitoring and investigating these violations, and for promoting accountability and justice.

It must be Transparent and and accountable by promoting open and inclusive decision-making processes.

It must reform its organizations for equal participation and influence by all global regions and interests.

It must embrace technology and innovation to increase its effectiveness and efficiency.

The challenges facing the world today – such as climate change, pandemics, and terrorism – require coordinated and collective action at the global level, and the UN is uniquely positioned to play a central role in this effort.

The reforms must aim to make the UN nimbler, less bureaucratic, more transparent and accountable, and more decentralized and effective.

They must be about placing sustainable development “at the heart” of the UN because development is the UN’s “best tool for preventing conflict and building a future of peace.

None of these reforms can be achived while the veto power of its five permanent members remain.

The ICJ is the UN’s judicial organ, composed of 15 judges elected to nine-year terms by the General Assembly and Security Council. The ICJ does not have the authority to weigh in on any international legal dispute it wishes; instead, the Court’s ability to hear a case is derived from the consent of the Member States concerned.

Member States are bound to comply with ICJ decisions in any case to which they are a party is now a joke.

The UN system is comprised of more than 30 affiliated organizations, all with conflict of interest.

Perhaps its time to move these agencies out of the UN into independent organiations, subject to an new AI world sustainable legal consitution.

Discussing reforms without making provisions for adequate resources will lead nowhere; ( See previous post on Funding to bring the United Nations closer to “we the people.”)

A permanent coordinating platform should be set up to integrate the UN response across agencies, funds, and related organizations. Data is now a major economic asset, but its use and consequences go well beyond commercial issues to matters such as the quality of society and political systems.

The distribution of power has also shifted considerably. Global institutions need to reflect these changes or lose legitimacy in the eyes of the emerging players, whether governments or their people.

Yet data governance at the global level lags well behind technological developments

.In today’s complex world, identifying problems, designing policies, and delivering change is no longer within the power of states standing alone. It requires participation of diverse actors, including nonprofits, grassroots movements, corporations, and local authorities.

Getting inclusivity right and shifting to a more equitable governance model will be critical to weathering power politics and delivering for all.

THE BEADY EYE ASK’S: WITH OUR WORLD DISINTERGRATING, IS IT NOT TIME TO REPLACE THE UNITED NATIONS?

( Six minute read)

WORLD, COME TO MY HOME!: 1174-1176 UNITED NATIONS - The flag of the ...

The United Nations is the most powerful international organisation in the world. Founded after World War Two, the UN aims to maintain global peace and security though international cooperation and dialogue.

Although the UN is seen as a bed-rock of the post-War world order, it is regularly criticised for its failings.

There are some who say the world would be better without the UN. Bedevilled by a litany of challenges, including gross underfunding, bloated bureaucracy, disunity, and geopolitical rivalry among the permanent members of the Security Council.

Would it be?

Today, many countries still put their own geo-political objectives ahead of any UN requirements.

This is the main failing of the United Nations.  Western powers, for example, are overrepresented in the five permanent members. Entire regions lack a permanent seat but nevertheless are bound to Security Council resolutions. Today, it lacks strong support in popular culture.

—————–

The United Nations stands at a crossroads.

The need to reform the United Nations is critical.

Political leaders, experts, and civil society agree that the United Nations is lagging behind global change, failing to anticipate emerging risks, and not adequately resolving or mitigating global challenges.

There is no longer any doubt that three primary threats endanger the existence of humanity: Climate change, infectious disease, and nuclear weapons are the core global challenges but disruptive technological, societal, and ecological developments impose new challenges that require new partnerships beyond the current state-centric global architecture.

The age of disinformation and ever-increasing influence of social media has left truth and facts more coloured by predesignated concepts and ideas.

Ideally, the Security Council should be stripped of veto power when a matter relating to any these existential threats is on the agenda.

The greatest challenge confronting the organization—one that has repeatedly rendered it unable to act decisively on critical global issues—is intransigence among the permanent members of the Security Council.

At a time of profound global change and increasing competition over values, treating climate change as simply another environmental problem rather than a crosscutting factor affecting all aspects of human life should have a dedicated UN institution focusing on Climate change not as one problem among many, but as a unique crisis that affects all activities.

————————

UN reform has been on the agenda since the organization was created in 1945.

The Security Council as currently constituted in terms of membership, functions, and powers cannot effectively respond to the myriad crises engulfing the world.

As powerful countries move toward unilateralism, populism, and nationalism at the expense of multilateralism and collective action, a united and forward-looking Security Council capable of effectively driving the wider United Nations to achieve its goals is sine qua non.

——————-

What would actually happen if the United Nations collapsed, or was disbanded?

Realistically, there are two main ways that the United Nations could collapse. There are many ways that the UN might cease to exist but these can be divided into ‘internal’ and ‘external’ causes.

Internal:  Financial collapse, or a major internal scandal, or the UN deciding voluntarily to disband itself.

External: National governments collectively deciding to dispend the UN, some major, or many minor countries deciding to leave or countries withdrawing funding. Data governance at the global level lags well behind technological developments.

The collapse of the UN would also remove a key arena for global dialogue and could be followed by a potential re-alignment of the world order as there would no longer be a forum for dialogue between nations and its conceivable with a vacuum in international law many conflicts could reignite.

The first thing that would happen if the UN collapsed is that funding to the UN’s international programmes would stop.

It is likely that it would be replaced with another inter-governmental organisation.

The pre-curser to the UN was the League of Nations, disbanded in 1946.

Historians generally agree the League of Nations failed for five main reasons. These are:

  • It failed to encompass all countries, with major powers such as the United States not joining. Many countries also left the League of Nations or only joined for a short-time.
  • Countries put their own geo-political objectives ahead of the League of Nations requirement for collective security.
  • The League of Nations did not have its own army, and so relied on member states to use military force. Many were not willing to as their populations did not support another war.
  • Disarmament was a major aim of the League of Nations, meaning countries were encouraged to reduce military spending. This meant intervening militarily against countries that went against the League was made more difficult.
  • The League had no power to stop countries taking aggressive action. When countries such as Germany or Japan began attacking their neighbours, the League was powerless to stop them.

——————-

Let’s take each one and see if the modern United Nations could fail for the same reasons?

It currently supports the global order. All major nations, especially those included in the Security Council, have a vested interest in retaining the United Nations as it helps them maintain power.

Another reason why the United Nations is unlikely to collapse is that, although there are many legitimate criticisms of the UN, any organisation that were to replace it would unlikely be more successful.

This is because any global forum of nations requires a degree of flexibility and pragmatism in order to incorporate all countries. Although this means the UN’s power to affect change is limited, a more controlling inter-governmental organisation would see nations leaving when decisions went against them.

———————–

Today, everyone seems to have problems with multilateralism, which is eroding the authority of global institutions.

More than ever the world needs collective action.

Working out how to bring the United Nations closer to “we the people” and remaining relevant for future generations should drive the organization as it enters its next phase.

It’s the place where leaders come and give public speeches but that really nothing meaningful gets done.

It is unable to stop war, it is unable to end famine, it is unable to stop conflicts, it is unable to manage migration, it does not push for global disbarment

Somewhere, the spirit of collectivist has to be regenerated.

The ineffectiveness of the UN are simply a reflection of those dysfunctional characteristics of the international system.

The most important prerequisite for an effective global institution may be a concert of powers.

—————

There is no credible alternative in sight so the UN must be retooled and updated to tackle today’s challenges

Can 193 nations with competing agendas undertake major reforms?  NO!

However we are inching closer to “a great fracture.” Conflicts, coups and chaos are surging. The climate crisis is growing. Divides are deepening between military and economic powers, the richer North and poorer South, East and West. A new Rubicon has been crossed in artificial intelligence.

Can it be reformed?

THIS CAN ONLY BE ACHIVED IF THE UN IS BROKEN UP INTO A MORE TARGETED ORGANISATION.

By creating an international antivirus consortium, protecting biodiversity, and strengthening warning protocols within UN agencies.

We cannot inch towards agreement while the world races towards a precipice.

It must and we all must unite behind a common purpose, or we all be speaking to an empty room.

(Eighteen-minute read) THE LOGOTYPE

The Global Goals are a set of universal Goals, which set out a plan to tackle the issues that affect us all, no matter where we are in the world, from climate change to health, from gender equality to peace and justice.

The Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) set in 2000 are.

Goal 1: End poverty in all its forms everywhere.

Goal 2: End hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition and promote sustainable agriculture.

Goal 3: Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages.

Goal 4: Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.

Goal 5: Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls.

Goal 6: Ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all.

Goal 7: Ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable, and modern energy for all.

Goal 8: Promote sustained, inclusive, and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment, and decent work for all.

Goal 9: Build resilient infrastructure, promote inclusive and sustainable industrialization, and foster innovation.

Goal 10: Reduce inequality within and among countries.

Goal 11: Make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient, and sustainable.

Goal 12: Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns.

Goal 13: Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts*

Goal 14: Conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas, and marine resources for sustainable development.

Goal 15: Protect, restore and promote sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, sustainably manage forests, combat desertification, and halt and reverse land degradation and halt biodiversity loss.

Goal 16: Promote peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development, provide access to justice for all, and build effective, accountable, and inclusive institutions at all levels.

Goal 17: Strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the global partnership for sustainable development.

They are intended to be universal in the sense of embodying a universally shared common global vision of progress towards a safe, just, and sustainable space for all human beings to thrive on the planet.

The different goals and targets however represent different degrees of challenge and ambition for different countries depending on their present state of development and other national circumstances. The balance between the social, economic, and political efforts needed to deliver the different objectives is also likely to be different in different countries.

There are all verbal Goals with no legal binding, interconnected to each other and so far we have failed to provide the support to turn any of the desired goals into reality.

The U.N. can’t compel any country to do any of the things required.

The rationale for any goal must increase everyone’s stake in the goals so that when they come into effect, countries will swiftly incorporate them into national policy decisions — in other words, take them off the page and into practice.

There’s a real danger they will end up sitting on a bookshelf, gathering dust as there’s still no clear consensus on where exactly the money will come from to achieve any of them.

In the end, we are one people living in one world and all Goals require financing.

So the goals are a waste of time and money and won’t matter unless we as individual and national governments take them seriously.

                                ———————

The only way to combat the changes we are now witnessing in our plant is if we all start financing the changes required.

One of the first things you would hear in economics class is that there is no free lunch, meaning that nothing in life is free. Everything exists in a limited supply. That means that everything has value.

We also know that governments and countries can’t tackle anything that requires a long-term commitment.

The bead eye has been promoting the following solution to creating a worldwide value that would afford an opportunity for all of us to invest in a just future.

A perpetual funded Fund of trillions, totally transparent, with rewards to all investors that would transfer the UN verbal into positive actions.

Here is the idea again.

Can you improve or find fault with it? (Comments below)

It would give all of us an opportunity to invest in the sustainability of the plant.

It would give the United Nations clout not just worthless resolutions.

The Solution:

The United Nations-backed by world governments issues Non-tradable Green PRIZE Bonds,

These Bonds would pay interest dividends that move in line with inflation rates, guaranteeing a percentage yearly return depending on the value of the bond.

The interest is guaranteed by all world governments.

Bought online like lotto tickets each bond carries an identification number that is entered into a weekly prize draw, and a yearly prize draws equivalent to 0.005% of the funds raised.

Draws are fully funded by the players, through revenue made from ticket sales.

Most of the biggest and most popular lotteries on the Lotter have some form of prize guarantee.

Take EuroMillions, for example. The EuroMillions jackpot starts at €17 million, which means that there is a €17 million guaranteed jackpot.

The pan-European EuroJackpot is similar, with a guaranteed minimum jackpot of €10 million.

The UN green Prize bond would be a  progressive jackpot one in which if the jackpot is not won, it will carry over and grow for the next drawing.

The distribution of the funds raised by the Bonds must also be transparent and distributed as non-repayable grants.

This would be undertaken by an executive non-departmental public body not attached to the UN to avoid any vetoing.

It would vet all applications for funds to verify that they meet the values set by the UN, peace, dignity, and equality on a healthy planet.

Once accepted all projects would enter a draw for funding which would ensure that no lobbying and corruption with money going to community groups and health, education, and environmental projects.

There is considerable work to be done to create a realistic, coherent approach to improving our divorce from reality.

You only have to look at what has happened to the climate change goals.

Just as leaders around the world were starting to think seriously about tackling global warming it is now derailed for a decade by the Ukrainian/Russia conflict.

We’ll have to wait and see if that will really happen.

What if every child was aware of the key global challenges of our time?
