( A THREE MINUTE READ)

In  Europe alone, there are 3 million people on the streets.

Résultat de recherche d'images pour "pictures of homeless people"

We all know that the  Eu has many problems and is need of reform. All EU countries face major challenges in relation to finding sufficient resources to tackle social problems and it cannot be expected that one country like Germany is going to sort out other country’s homeless.

However it appears to me that homelessness is increasing across a considerable number of EU Member States.

The growing number of people in Europe facing situations of housing vulnerability due to shifting dynamics in housing and labour markets, as well as the diminishing role of states in housing provision requires policies that target different types of homelessness (temporary, long-term) with customized interventions (prevention, supported housing) that are flexible and effective at engaging individuals “where they are.”

As EU member states grapple with immigration and other social changes wrought by EU integration, globalization, and the economic crisis

We are now caught in VICIOUS circular, with the whole area in needs of a fresh approach.

Prevention of homelessness is strongest in social democratic regimes, and the weakest in Mediterranean countries and some eastern European transition nations.

Which strategies in particular are best suited to responding to homelessness, either from a preventive or remedial vantage point is debatable however the provision of housing must ultimately be seen as the primary solution to homelessness, and that, while distinct from their housing needs, the additional health and social service needs of individuals need to be addressed as well.

Housing and services should NOT be linked.

A right to housing for all homeless persons will only be successful to the extent that such a right is legally enforceable.

Another words in the hands of courts rather than in those of elected governments.

While the numbers of people experiencing homelessness may be relatively low compared to those experiencing other social problems within the EU, the unique distress of homelessness and the potential costs for individuals, families and wider society from homelessness must never be forgotten.

Quantifying homelessness isn’t straightforward and I don’t think it would be beneficial here to list the thousands that are sleeping rough in Europe, country by country.

It is sufficient to state that Homelessness is a violation of fundamental human rights. When you walk by a homeless person it personifies whether the European Union is working or not.

In total, the United Nations Commission on Human Rights estimates that the world has 100 million homeless people.

And we wonder why we have such an unstable political world.

By comparison in Australia and Canada, hundreds of thousands of people are homeless.

There are over 9.5 million homeless people in Columbia and 24.4 million in Nigeria.

The argument can be made for approaching homelessness as a problem that affects a set of distinct sub-groups and consequently, for tailoring solutions according to each group’s respective needs. Homeless youth, Homeless women  Homeless migrants. Homeless mentally ill.

This places homelessness interventions squarely within the broader context of poverty.

But poverty is also the inability to use the resources offered.  Poverty should be understood as not merely a problem of access to resources but also as implying a lack of ability in taking advantage of resources.

If the EU does not want social exclusion within its ranks it must address homeless with a Rooflessness subsidy, like it help the farming communities through the Common Agricultural Policy.

Homelessness in Greece has significantly increased to 20,000 homeless people in recent years.

About 50% of the homeless population roams the streets of Athens.

Measuring the scope and extent of homelessness in Europe still remains a significant obstacle along with the whole set of processes that generate homelessness and what results in different histories of homelessness.

The POOR AND HOMELESS WILL CONTINUE TO GROW, BOTH WILL UNDERMINE THE ECONOMIC GROWTH AND UNITY OF THE EU. Résultat de recherche d'images pour "pictures of homeless people"

Quantitative Easing – enough money to stretch from earth to the moon.

Popular media’s definition of quantitative easing focuses on the concept of central banks increasing the size of their balance sheets to increase the amount of credit available to borrowers.

Theoretically, this leads to increased spending results in increased consumption, which increases the demand for goods and services, fosters job creation and, ultimately, creates economic vitality. (a simple explanation)

The idea is that by making it easier to obtain loans, interest rates will drop and consumers and businesses will borrow and spend.

So why are we most of us still struggling to make a living?

What in fact is happening is that a flood of cash has encouraged reckless financial behavior and directed a fire-hose of money to emerging economies that cannot manage the cash.

As I understand it the sole purpose of money is as a stable measure of value that facilitates the exchange of goods and investment. Quantitative easing, by its very name, involves the corruption of money’s sole purpose as a stable medium of exchange.

If only life were so simple.

By destabilizing the value of money, Quantitative easing works against the very investment that would drive economic growth. It’s supporting the very government spending and housing consumption that got us into trouble to begin with. It is the horribly obtuse notion that central banks can produce real economic growth through their monetary machinations.

It is financing the ongoing economic hardship through its expanded borrowing of bank reserves. invest in emerging markets, commodity-based economies, commodities themselves, and non-local opportunities rather than to lend to local businesses that are having difficulty getting loans.

Quantitative easing policies have benefited mainly the wealthy. For example 40% of those gains went to the richest 5% of British households.

Quantitative easing cash ends up overwhelmingly in profits, thereby exacerbating income inequality. The consequent social tensions that arise from it, is fundamentally a regressive redistribution program that has been boosting wealth for those already engaged in the financial sector or those who already own homes, but passing little along to the rest of the economy.

It is a primary driver of income inequality.

It might well have been better saved if insolvent firms, institutions like Banks had been allowed to restructure through bankruptcy, and our central banks had provided credit only to sound banks on a short-term basis.

What we have now is central banks selling the assets they have accumulated and it wont be long before interest rates start to climb, choking off what they call the recovery.

Technically, a central bank could become insolvent ( although its liabilities are essentially costless) in a manner similar to a commercial bank. In practice, the situation is very different because a central bank’s assets and liabilities are different from those of a commercial bank, and because the central bank can issue money to meet its obligations. In effect, they can bail themselves out by printing money.

I am no financial ingenious guru but the evidence of Quantitative easing seems to me to be a devaluation of buying power of your money. A good first step in avoiding such a lack of confidence would be to start unwinding the QE policies.

When we look back it might have been better to have put a million in the bank account of ever citizen, which they could have drawn down over twenty to twenty-five years provided they cleared their mortgage, took out health and old age insurance. This would have stimulate the economy for all.

As I said I’m no financial adviser and I’m certainly not “rich, my advice to anyone reading this post  ”Rather than settling for a wage (and be “owned” by bosses), you should be come owners.

Have a look at the below. All comments welcome.

Because the Fed’s—it does not pay interest on Federal Reserve Notes and typically pays no interest on reserves—it almost always remits money to the Treasury.

Since 2008, however, the Fed has sold off virtually all of its short-term Treasury securities and acquired instead longer-term Treasuries and the debt and MBS issued by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

These securities are riskier relative to those normally held by the Fed for two reasons.whether a central bank can become insolvent, therefore, centers on what it can do to cause the public to lose confidence in its currency. A good first step in avoiding such a lack of confidence would be to start unwinding the QE policies.

Even the invention of quantitative easing is shrouded in it did raise economic activity a bit. controversy. that central banks have the capacity to keep inflation in check if the money they have created begins circulating more rapidly.

THE DOMINANT CAPITALIST SYSTEM – GREED MUST BE CAPPED.

We are coming up to the seventh commemoration of World War Two when hundred thousands of young souls gave their lives to stop the spread of Fascism in Europe which is now once more knocking on the door of Brussels. We all know the reasons why. The distribution of wealth remains in the hands of the rich.

At this point I could wax lyrical for pages and pages about what really makes one rich in our lives to no avail. So let’s look at one of the reasons why a tattooed individual is going to take his seat in the European Parliament with a swastika on his arm.

The euro zone unemployment rate has hit a record high at 11.8% with 18.8m people out of jobs.

A tiny elite are getting richer, the rest of us are getting poorer.

This is a familiar story in a world where greed and extreme wealth are central to the dominant capitalist system.

The annual Forbes billionaires list is an opportunity to test politicians promises that we are really

“All In It Together”.

The latest Forbes ranking, totalling a record 1,426 super rich (120 more than last year), globally represents a fortune of $5.4 trillion. That’s up from the $4.6 trillion a year earlier.

As you might expect, the United States continues to dominate the list, with 442 super-rich, followed by Asia-Pacific, with 386, and rest of the Americas producing 129 and the Middle East & Africa 103.

Although now the epicentre of austerity, the EU contributes heavily to the American business magazine’s hall of shame. And many of the richest among them have become even more filthy rich.

This at a time when most people on the Old Continent have been getting poorer, by 14%, to be exact, or one trillion dollars, according to a recent Credit Suisse study looking at household wealth.

The gap between rich and poor has grown even in the most traditionally egalitarian European countries, such as Germany, Denmark and Sweden, with the average income of the richest 10% compared to the poorest 10% rising from 5 to 1 in the 1980s to 6 to 1 today, according to a OECD reported published in December 2011.

Divided We Stand:  Why Inequality Keeps Rising” .

Our most urgent priority is to build Europe on the basis of equality, solidarity, and authentic democracy.

EU institutions and European governments now serve the interests of financial markets, with no respect for popular sovereignty. They must be brought under democratic control, just as the public interest must prevail and ecological and social needs be met. We base our demands for a democratic, social, ecological and feminist Europe on these principles, in solidarity with the people’s of the world.

Austerity policies attack economic and social rights and dismantle social protection. They lead to a drop in the standard of living and in many countries to acute humanitarian distress. The consequences are massive unemployment as well as a serious downgrading of working and living conditions. These, in turn, lead to unacceptable increases in poverty: today, 120 million people in the EU are poor.

For decades financial markets built and operated within a world economy in which they face no obstacles. The speculation they engaged in lies at the heart of most problems facing us today and still speculative traders continue to take money out of people’s pockets.

Now don’t get me wrong. I have nothing against a man getting rich or staying rich. The Capitalist system will ensure their existence, and long may they do so. No Wealth no Tax Mansion Tax or what ever tax will solve the problem of Greed.

However there is a way of getting Electronic Trading Platforms and Computer-driven algorithmic trading strategies and the like to contribute to the distribution of wealth worldwide.

The Foreign Exchange Market is known to be the largest financial market in the world, as measured by daily turnover. It is estimated to be anything from $3.2 trillion to $5 trillion a day. Six times larger than trading in US Treasury Bonds and thirty times larger than trading on the New york Stock Exchange.

A 0.05% AID COMMISSION ON ALL WORLD FOREIGN EXCHANGE TRADING WOULD DO THE TRICK.  SAVE THE WORLD FROM THE RICH.  ( SEE PREVIOUS BLOGS)

ARE WE ALL INCAPABLE OF ACTING AS ONE ?

The Asteroid is on it final countdown before hitting earth causing a terminator-style annihilation.

Most of us have seen a Science fiction Movie with this scenario.

Did you ever try to list the reasons why it is impossible for man to act as one. A very interesting exercise of imagination and fact.

Here is my first attempt at a few reasons

Our DNA demands Survival.  Greed.

We are caught in a vicious cycle of Fear, Rage, and Appetites that cry for instant gratification.

We are the agents of the very changes that are throttling us.

We are inventing a world of which we are altogether ill fit to live on.

Complex languages.  World Organisations that compete against each other.

Intelligence. In ourselves, we may finally have met our match.

There is an Evolutionary force to which we cannot adapt.  The web.

Perhaps we will simply morph into Cyber sapiens,* a new human, infinitely more intelligent than you or I are, perhaps more socially adept, or at least able to juggle large tribes of friends, acquaintances, and business associates with the skill of a circus performer. A creature more capable of keeping up with the change it generates. To handle the challenges of time shortages and long distances, Cyber sapiens may even be able to bilocate or split off multiple, digital versions of themselves, each of whom can blithely live separate lives and then periodically rejoin their various digital selves so that they become a supersize version of a single person.

A lack of biological constraint may become the defining trait of the next human. We will almost certainly become augmented versions of our current selves.

Our newfound capabilities might become more than we can handle. Will we evolve into some version of comic-book heroes and villains, clashing mythically and with terrible consequences? Powers like these give the term cutting edge a new and lethal meaning. And what of those who don’t have access to all of the fresh, amplifying technologies?

Should we not being guarding  against a world of super-haves and super-have-nots? It is these sides of the equation I wonder about most.

THE LANGUAGE OF POVERTY IS CHANGING

If you have even been on the end of a tongue lashing, or received praise you will appreciate the power of Language.

Society is reflected in Language.

Is this the reason that Poverty is being replaced in Language by the word Inequality.

Inequality of wages, inequality of opportunity, inequality of education, Inequality of benefits, inequality of immigration, till you arrive at the inequality of inequality.

My point here is that by replacing the word Poverty with Inequality LANGUAGE is making a consciousness shift in our behavior to Poverty.

FOR EXAMPLE.  Governments legalisation of gambling with Lotteries that take most of it money from the poor to pay for affluent people ‘s activities is a form of moral decay in our Societies.

You might not think that language has the power to changes your perception. You would be wrong.

Language has being used to dehumanize the enemy in all recent wars.

Here are a few examples in no particular order.

Cruts, Nips, Goons, Terrorists, Charlie, Hun, Jerry, Haji, Ragheads, Pinko, Tiliban, Rubble-Heads, Towel heads, Shinnies, Dink, Slope – Bastards, Nips,

Once poverty ment.

Deprivation, want, insecurity, helpless, powerlessness, inferiority, pitiable, despicable, beggar, vagabond, leper, undeserving, deserving, humble, dependent on Charitable relief.

These days Poverty means :

Immigration, human misery amidst the plenty.

In work poverty, no hours contracts, minimum wage, benefits.

Education, state against private.

Refugee. Natural disasters, wars.

Exploitation. Modern day slavery.

You may think that this is of no consequence, but once society starts to dehumanise its social and moral values with words it is devaluing its core values to the whims of the rich condemning the poor to the Scratch card of life.

Inequality is full of blame, while poverty is full reality.

Try it for yourself. Close your eyes. Say poverty. Now say inequality.

I am sure you will appreciate the difference.

IF WE WANT IT WE MUST PAY FOR IT.

For as long as I can remember I have being hearing FOUR words——

POVERTY
CONSERVATION
EXTINCTION
CORRUPTION

THEY HAVE NOT GONE AWAY, BUT ALL HAVE TAKEN ON EXTRA BAGGAGE AND BECOME ATTACHED TO EACH OTHER.

It is said that poverty is improving with a massive reduction mainly due to economic growth in China and India. $5 to $7 a day. It now being replaced in the middle classes by inequality.

We are told by Climate Change experts that Extinction is getting closer and closer.

Corruption in all its disguises is here to stay.

Conservation: plagued by the above is fighting a losing battle.

But the good news is that there are two new words on the block.

Data.

Privatisation.

The amount of data stored is doubling every eighteen months.

Privatisation. Has little interest in Poverty or Conservation, but has a self-interest in Corruption and Extinction.

So where do we stand?

The title to this blog states the position.

If we who are now connected by all don’t Pay for what we value we have a world not worthy of our technology advances.

We must make a Tree, a Tiger, Air, Water to valuable to be exploited for Profit.

By placing a Tax or World Aid Commission on all Stock Exchange transactions world-wide we can fund the changes needed to pass on a Globe of Beauty.

J'aime beaucoup...

So what if the ice caps are melting no one is going to change their lifestyles because of that.

Apathy is the defining emotion of our times, and ignorance is bliss.

We are all net working, face booking, twittering, flip boarding, you name it till the birds fall out of the sky.

Capitalism inherently is a system of Injustice, Inequality, and War.

The real question however is not the degree to which humanity is screwed but what are we supposed to do with the information.

The idea of global environmental catastrophe is horrifying hard to grasp. The danger is that we will do nothing. We live in a world in which we are all to blame.

Our sense of identity is changing. Who you think you are is changing to who Am I.

Democracy for sure as we know it is being eroded at an alarming rate.

Our private lives are being willingly and unknowable Data processed to become a commodity to sell to the point that we no longer have a collective will to act just incase it upsets the Economy,or our life styles.

We are being collectively bamboozled by overload of choice and information.  WE ARE BEING MANIPULATED.

THE ONLY WAY TO COUNTER THESE TRENDS IS TO GET A COMMON WORLD VOICE BY WAY OF THE SMART PHONES /   I PADS TO PRESSURE WORLD LEADERS WHETHER THEY BE LOCAL POLITICIANS, PRIME MINISTERS, PRESIDENTS, LARGE CORPORATIONS, UNITED NATIONS OR RELIGIOUS LEADERS.

SO JOIN MY MOVEMENT TO GET A PEOPLES RESOLUTION PASSED IN THE UNITED NATIONS FOR REFORM AND THE PLACING OF A 0.007% AID TAX ON ALL WORLD STOCK EXCHANGE TRANSACTIONS.

BIG DATA IS LEADING US TO CULTURAL DE-ACCELERATION.

The most recent centuries have seen extraordinary accomplishments in improving quality of Life AND WE MUST ALL LEARN TO MANAGE WITHIN IT.

For example: All those interested in Health will have to learn to keep up with advances in digital monitoring through wireless technologies of biological information. In doing so learn how personal feedback systems will apply to prevention rather than cure.

We hear that change is accelerating, while the pace of change is accelerating faster.

It appears to me that this is true of computational carrying capacity at a planetary level and that the two are connected, but we are also seeing cultural de-acceleration.

We are investing our energy in futuristic information technologies that are creating Big Data. Another words machines get smarter, we are getting stupider.

Breakneck development of personal technology is creating over choice, and surplus complexity. Just look at communication. We at the point of gluttony. Choosing take’s time and our time is not unlimited. Businesses are engineering complexity which produces additional revenue.

Just look at what you have to agreed to before hitting the “I agree”

Or put Cooking Pot into Google and up come 8.600,000 results.

These technologies are also the basis of NSA spying, flying robots killing people, the wholesale privatisation of biological life itself.

Now don’t get me wrong I am not against the world of technology, but Big Data is going to change our world in way we cannot image.

If the key problems facing our species were to be solved, you would have to jail most of us, and there would be less and less work.

I can hear you saying so what, what’s your point.

Sorry I can not be more specific as they are in a state of developing and need your input.

Business and technologies can be the great engines that lifts billions out of poverty but they both need a new kind of values driven ethos rather than profit for profit sake.

Technology is developing in rich countries while Tigers are disappearing.

Which of the two contributors above to you think are more important to life in regard to REWARDING us.

Is Technology creating technological deserts of inequality? Is it that is replace Poverty with Big Data which is owned by the rich?

Is Technology Privatizing the World through Sovereign Wealth Funds?

So my point is that we must bring fresh thinking to our world if we are going to avoid Inequality on a scale that is all ready out of control.

You will see from previous blogs I advocate that humans are incapable of developing a system to avoid this happening due to greed.  So before we are all writing with GOOGLE Pens that need no Education lets hear what you have to say.

THE INCORRUPTIBLE OF POVERTY WILL HAUNT US ALL.

Facts and Statistics, Organisations, Poverty

I will return to Sovereign funds in future posts but for now let’s return to what I want to achieve : TO CONQUER GREED.  THE MAIN problem that contributes to WORLD POVERTY.

What is greed?

An excessive desire to acquire or possess more than what one needs, or deserves, especially with respect to material wealth.

When it comes to consumption of or desire for food it becomes Gluttony.

It then turns into Avariciousness, Cupidity, Avarice, Covetousness, Acquisitiveness.

For me it is an indelible survival gene in human DNA no matter how you try to define the word.

The more you get the more you want.

The incorruptible silence of Poverty will haunt us all unless it is eradicated.

It does not take a genius to know that there are many forms of Poverty.

However if you consider the number of Charitable Organisations in the world ( there is no clear-cut way of knowing the exact number. The Uk alone has over 170,000 the USA over a million) let’s say it’s an industry all on it own with all of them competing for donations that make very little impression.

If you were to ask the question: How much does the world actually spend on Foreign Aid. The answer would set your head in a spin. At the risk of this I set out here below in layman terms some facts.

OVER THE LAST FIFTY YEARS THE DEVELOPING COUNTRIES OF this planet have given as much as $2.3 trillion in foreign aid – and still there is an Overwhelming amount of Poverty.

Let’s try to get the above in to perspective.

In 2001 Donald Rumsfeld Sec of Defense USA ( not a man I admire) stated that the Defense Department was so bad at keeping track of its funds / budget, that there was $2.3 trillion it could not account for.

This as I am sure you have seen is equal to the total amount of aid spent by developing countries.

The cost of the Iraq War is estimated to come to $ 3 trillion. Lies always come back to bite you.

Since 2002-2011 the USA has spent :

Afghanistan  ——- $ 60,017,650,000

Israel ————–$30,645,470,000

I could at this point bombard you with Poverty Facts & Stats, such as almost half the world – over 3 billion people – live on less than $2.50 a day , or 22,000 children die each day, a billion can read or write. On and on till your brain shuts down. ( wwww.global issues.org)

By the year 2030 over 1.5 million people ever year will die from breathing smoke, from poorly – composite biomass fuel. ( www worldengeryoutlook.org.)

In the end just think what 0.0001% on all stock exchange transactions world-wide would do,.( see previous posts)

The third world as we like to call it is not a world apart. It’s voice can be heard with the power of the Smartphone.

Changing World Poverty through the power of smartphones

Right it’s time to return to the main reasons I started this blog.

And that is:

TO CREATE A WEB SITE THAT WILL ATTRACT THE WORLDS SMART PHONE USERS INTO A WORLD MOVEMENT THAT WILL USE THE COMBINED POWER OF THEIR PHONES TO BRING ABOUT CHANGE. ( see previous posts)

We know and most of us acknowledge the problems of the world.

The main problem is the distribution of Wealth i.e. POVERTY

It is my contention that no matter what the world does in its efforts to eradicate POVERTY – nothing will work. Why?

The geography, the resources distribution, the power struggles, lack of education, the digital age creating technological deserts, the lack of genuine will, consumerism, population growth, to mention a few reason

There is only one way:  To tap into the very reason why it exists in the first place.

GREED:

There is no way of archiving this other than placing a Poverty commission on all trading on all the Stock Exchanges of the WORLD THAT EXITS NOW AND IT THE FUTURE.  To day there are approximately 103 Exchanges world wide. On very trade no matter what it is – stocks, bonds, derivatives, forex&inter bank, cash&spots, futures, equities, gilts, commodities, hedge-funds. You name it. If it can be traded for profit it contributes to eradicating poverty. Poverty is man-made with millions of people trapped in its prison. It can be overcome.

Greed will not even notice it. The income generated will be in the trillions.

No more : Donate just two pounds a month to save a child, a snow leopard, a whale, a donkey.

Rather : Enough funds – to stop conflicts, to stop exploitation ,to stop terrorism, to stop climate change, to live on one planet with dignity and respect for each other, to change the world. CASE CLOSED.
